The days of only seeing runners, gym junkies and athletes in activewear are over. Now, almost everyone wears these clothes – and not just when they’re being active.
It’s a fact Australian comedy troupe Skit Box has played up in a recent YouTube video. The group of girls show how many different places you can go in activewear, without actually being very active.
It’s struck a chord with the people too: within 24 hours the video has clocked up over 1.4 million views on Facebook and YouTube. It’s also received coverage from press all around the world, including The Huffington Post, Time Magazine, The Daily Mail, Buzzfeed, Mamamia, The Project and more.
While Skit Box were already making a modest name for themselves in Australia – with a number of YouTube skits and a show part of ABC’s Fresh Blood line up for 2014 and 2015 – this video has really brought them to everyone’s attention.

The group formed in 2012, and consists of actresses Adele Vuko, Sarah Bishop and comedian Greta Lee Jackson, who all have a focus on creating female-driven comedy.
They describe themselves as “a group of three women who reside in Sydney, Australia and sometimes Los Angeles in the US. We like unicorns, red lipstick and making comedy.”
They joined up with a team of hotshot creative to film the Activewear video, including actor and YouTube favourite Christiaan Van Vuuren (who’s also known as one half of the Bondi Hipsters). There are already hints of a possible follow up video too.
“We want to thank our amazing cast and crew who helped us pull this together in such a short space of time and stay tuned for more #activewear news coming soon,” Skit Box says on their website.
