Target’s Exclusive Collaboration With Dion Lee
Target Australia has teamed up with one of Australia’s coolest designers for a new women’s capsule collection launching in July.
The major retail chain has released a “sneak peek” of the collection on its website, with an emphasis on “the active Australian lifestyle” balanced against Lee’s edgy, high fashion aesthetic.
“It’s exciting to see my designs styled in a new, imaginative way,” Lee says on the website. “The designs are a balance between aesthetics and function.”
The collection will feature some 35 items, ranging in price from $25 to $119, and including accessories day-to-night clothing, loungewear, and “performance wear” that takes it’s cue from the athletic fashion trend that’s become big over the past few years.
Target says the range features a combination of textiles and detailing and includes a “vibrant mix of digital prints and metal hardware”.
“Laser cutting detail is no longer reserved only for designer runways,
and you can forget about neoprene being used just for swimwear. This collection
makes high-end fashion affordable and more accessible to everyone.”
Dion Lee has been celebrated on runways around the world and praised by the likes of Lara Bingle, Jessica Gomes and Nadia Fairfax. His collections are currently top sellers for David Jones and online retailer Net-A-Porter, but this collaboration as part of the Designers for Target program will introduce his aesthetic and brand to a whole new range of women.
The program, now in its ninth year, has previously included collaborations with the likes of Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Missoni and fellow Australian designer Josh Goot, as well as Dannii Minogue who has an ongoing “Petites” range in the store.
Target Managing Director Stuart Machin has previously said the Designers for Target program is all about “bringing affordable style and quality to Australian consumers” and is currently looking forward to releasing the Dion Lee collection.
“Dion Lee is an incredibly talented young designer and Target is proud to bring his designer aesthetic to women across Australia,” he says in a press statement.
“Our Designers for Target program makes high-end fashion affordable and more accessible to everyone, and we can’t wait to unveil the Dion Lee for Target collection.”
The Dion Lee for Target lookbook will be released on 16th June 2015, and the actual line will be available in 35 select stores around Australia as well as online from 2nd of July.
